An instruction from the prophet Muhammad is to ?eat together, and do not separate, for the blessing is in the company.?
After a month of fasting during Ramadan, Muslims will celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, a three-day festival with family, friends and food. We asked the HuffPost Religion community what they planned to eat during the festivity.
Eid menu?s included everything from pizza to Sheer Khorma , a traditional Muslim dish that includes vermicelli in saffron sweet cream. There were plenty of ideas for desert among our community as sweets are a big part of any Eid celebration.
A slideshow of replies from our community can be found below, as well as selected recipes from My Halal Kitchen, a Chicago based food blog run by chef and food writer Yvonne Maffei (thanks Yvonne!).
